Altana, Wyeth Sue Sun Pharma Over Protonix ANDA

Law360, New York (April 22, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- German drug maker Altana AG and U.S. marketing partner Wyeth have filed a lawsuit to block India's Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. from selling a generic version of the ulcer treatment Protonix.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, seeks to block approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration of a Sun Pharma abbreviated new drug application (ANDA) for a generic version of delayed-release pantoprazole sodium, the main ingredient in Protonix.
