Feds Want To Use Rajaratnam Wiretaps In Gupta Case

Law360, New York (May 1, 2012, 3:36 PM EDT) -- Wiretapped conversations that Galleon Group LLC's now-imprisoned Raj Rajaratnam had with other hedge fund employees should be admitted into the criminal insider trading trial of former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. director Rajat Gupta, federal prosecutors argued Monday.

Prosecutors asked U.S. District Judge Jed S. Rakoff in a motion to allow the government to use Rajaratnam's recorded conversations with Galleon's principal trader, Ian Horowitz, and its portfolio manager, David Lau, to boost its case against Gupta because there are no recorded conversations of Rajaratnam speaking with Gupta...
