Contractors Hit By Gov't Budget Cuts, Trade Group Says

Law360, Chicago (May 1, 2012, 4:42 PM EDT) -- A government contractor trade group sent letters to Democratic lawmakers on Monday arguing that federal contractors are not immune to budget reductions, fighting the legislators' recent plea for the U.S. Department of Defense to rely on civilian employees instead of awarding more private contracts.

The Professional Services Council fired off letters to 26 senators after those lawmakers sent a missive last week to Defense Secretary Leon Panetta urging that agency to nix a policy capping the civilian workforce at fiscal year 2010 levels. The PSC also...
