NRC Wrongly Eased Entergy Plant Safety Regs, 2nd Circ. Told

Law360, New York (May 3, 2012, 9:07 PM EDT) -- A former New York state lawmaker told the Second Circuit on Thursday that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission acted outside its authority when it relaxed safety standards on a New York City-area Entergy Corp. nuclear power plant.

Former Democratic Assemblyman Richard L. Brodsky said that modifications the NRC allowed at the Indian Point nuclear power plant threaten public safety, evoking the catastrophic incident at Japan's Fukushima Daiichi plant in oral arguments before a three-judge panel.
