Haemonetics To Pay $551M For Pall's Blood Business

Law360, New York (May 3, 2012, 5:53 PM EDT) -- Health care company Haemonetics Corp. said in a Thursday filing that it will pay $551 million for Pall Corp.'s blood filtration and processing line in an effort to take a bigger bite out of the billion-dollar blood collection market.

The sale is expected to close in the first half of 2013, pending regulatory approval, Haemonetics said in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing. The Braintree, Mass.-based company secured $475 million in term loans and will pony up $61 million in on-hand cash to finance the...
