Class Certified In McKesson Drug Pricing Case

Law360 (August 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal court judge has granted class status to a group of plaintiffs that brought suit against McKesson Corp. alleging the pharmaceutical distributor conspired to raise the average wholesale price for thousands of drugs.

Judge Patti B. Saris of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts certified two classes on Monday, consumers that purchased one of the brand-name drugs, and third-party payors, typically large insurers or smaller health and welfare plans that reimburse patients for medications.
