Westfield Sues GE Over Coverage For Hog Farm Fire

Law360, New York (May 9, 2012, 6:43 PM EDT) -- Westfield Insurance Co. on Tuesday sued General Electric Co. and manufacturer CTB Inc. to recover money paid out to settle claims stemming from an Illinois hog farm fire allegedly caused by a faulty motor in a grain feed system used at the farm.

In a suit that also seeks damages on behalf of farm owners Mark and Sara Lefler, the insurer seeks to hold GE and the Indiana-based company that made the feed system liable for the fire claims, according to the complaint filed in Illinois...
