TransCanada Says Contractor Botched Welder Oversight

Law360, New York (May 8, 2012, 8:40 PM EDT) -- Two TransCanada units on Monday sued a Texas-based construction management and inspection services contractor Monday for allegedly failing to ensure that welders working on a pipeline in Washington state were adequately qualified for the task.

In a complaint filed in Texas court, TransCanada USA Operations Inc. and Gas Transmission Northwest LLC claim that JRJ Energy Services LLC’s oversight in making sure the welders had the appropriate certification had forced them to seek out a new team of welders for Gas Transmission’s pipeline near Spokane, Wash....
