St. Vincent Judge Rakes McDermott Over The Coals

Law360 (August 31, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Manhattan bankruptcy judge has blasted McDermott, Will & Emery over its “disastrous” work on the Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers' Chapter 11 case, choosing to punish the Chicago powerhouse by slashing the fees the firm requested by nearly a half million dollars.

On Wednesday, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Adlai S. Hardin Jr. knocked down the firm's $2.2 million fee request by $460,000 while issuing a scathing ruling on McDermott's early efforts on behalf of Saint Vincent's.
