Texas Judge Forces Hearing On Toxic Waste Dump’s Permit

Law360, New York (May 9, 2012, 2:02 PM EDT) -- A Texas judge on Tuesday overturned the state Commission on Environmental Quality's decision to deny a protest hearing to the Sierra Club and residents living near a controversial radioactive and toxic waste dump who are concerned about health and environmental effects.

The decision will reopen the public input process for the dump’s permit, which was finalized April 25, and could result in the permit’s revocation or alteration.
