La. Recalls Oysters After Norovirus Outbreak

Law360, New York (May 9, 2012, 3:52 PM EDT) -- The state of Louisiana ordered an oyster recall and shut down a shellfish harvesting area Tuesday after at least 14 people contracted a stomach virus from eating the seafood at a restaurant in the New Orleans area.

The state's Department of Health and Hospitals recalled oysters that have been collected from a harvesting area in Terrebonne Parish, located southwest of New Orleans, since April 26. The agency also closed the harvesting area for at least 21 days.
