SAP's NetWeaver Accused Of Patent Infringement

Law360 (September 4, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Massachusetts company has filed suit against SAP AG, alleging that the German software company has infringed on its patent for supply chain management.

In a complaint filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Elcommerce.com Inc. claimed that SAP’s NetWeaver platform and supply chain management programs infringe on its patent.

The patent-in-suit, titled “Method and system for monitoring a supply chain,” was invented by Elcommerce founder Brian Perry, the complaint said. Perry assigned his patent application to Elcommerce in 2000...
