Ricoh Seeks Summary Judgment On Antitrust Claims

Law360, New York (September 4, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Japanese photocopier maker Ricoh Inc. on Friday asked a federal judge to grant it summary judgment in an antitrust countersuit brought by rival ink cartridge maker Katun Corp. after Ricoh sued it for patent infringement.

In court papers filed Friday, Ricoh said that expert testimony showed that Katun could not prove any of its claims, and that there was no evidence that Ricoh had engaged in any type of anti-competitive behavior, including pricing its toner units below cost or increasing its prices.
