Uranium Energy Picks Up Texas Exploration Project

Law360, New York (May 15, 2012, 7:01 PM EDT) -- Private equity-backed mining company Uranium Energy Corp. is buying up a 10,704-acre exploration project in South Texas as part of a larger corporate effort to become a major player in its industry, it said Tuesday.

The company is picking up the rights to explore for uranium in an area known as the Channen Project, it said. Financial terms and other details of the deal were not available, and a representative for the company could not immediately be reached for comment Tuesday.
