Gender Bias Suit With N.Y. Philharmonic Settled

Law360 (September 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A violinist who sued the New York Philharmonic for firing him as part of its alleged discriminatory policies against males has settled his case.

Anton Polezhayev had accused the oldest symphony orchestra in the U.S. of promoting lesser-qualified women over him for tenure and then ultimately firing him after he complained about the alleged discriminatory behavior. He settled the case in late August, according to the case’s court docket in the Supreme Court of the State of New York.
