Dems Seek To Bar Tax Credits For Chinese Solar Panels

Law360, New York (May 15, 2012, 8:17 PM EDT) -- Senate Democrats introduced a bill Tuesday that would exclude Chinese-made solar panels from tax credits that support small-scale solar installations in a move designed to counter China's subsidies for its solar industry.

The legislation, drafted by Sens. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, would narrow the scope of two 30 percent tax credits on solar equipment for homes and businesses by making Chinese solar panels ineligible.
