Adidas Says Skateboard Co. Sells 3-Stripe Knockoffs

Law360, New York (May 17, 2012, 12:24 PM EDT) -- Adidas AG sued a skateboard equipment maker and a sporting goods chain in Oregon federal court on Tuesday, alleging they made and sold sneakers with logos that ripped off Adidas's famous design of three parallel stripes.

The suit, filed by Germany's Adidas and its Portland, Ore.-based unit, Adidas America Inc., says sneakers made by skateboarding equipment and apparel company World Industries Inc. and sold by retail chain Big 5 Sporting Goods Corp. are knockoffs of Adidas' trademarked three-stripe design.
