Cumberland Sues To Stop Mylan's Generic Acetadote

Law360, New York (May 18, 2012, 6:21 PM EDT) -- Tennessee drugmaker Cumberland Pharmaceuticals Inc. on Thursday launched a patent infringement suit in Illinois federal court challenging Mylan Institutional LLC's attempt to score U.S. approval of a generic version of the overdose treatment drug Acetadote.

In the complaint, Cumberland claimed that Mylan Institutional and its parent, Mylan Inc., infringed its patent by filing an abbreviated new drug application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration seeking approval to market a generic version of Cumberland's Acetadote, an intravenous drug used to prevent or lessen hepatic injury in...
