NRC Chairman Resigns Amid Criticism Of Leadership

Law360, New York (May 21, 2012, 3:12 PM EDT) -- U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Chairman Gregory Jaczko announced Monday he would resign from the post he has held for three years, following clashes with his colleagues and intense criticism of his leadership by congressional Republicans.

The move comes as the NRC's inspector general is expected to release a follow-up to a report issued last year that found Jaczko intimidated NRC staff and may have withheld information from the commission about the shuttering of the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste site.
