Gas Tech Institute Execs Face Kickback, Fraud Claims

Law360, New York (September 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Three former executives of a leading environmental and energy technology institute were indicted Wednesday on federal allegations that they accepted around $7 million in kickbacks in return for awarding research contracts to family and friends.

The three worked for the Gas Technology Institute, which obtains funding from public and private sources, including grants from the United States Department of Energy, for research and development projects into alternative energy sources.
