Jones Day Reps SAP In $4.3B Deal For Cloud Firm Ariba

Law360, New York (May 22, 2012, 7:50 PM EDT) -- SAP AG, a top provider of business-management assistance to the health industry, has scooped up cloud computing firm Ariba Inc. in a $4.3 billion deal that deepens its stake in the burgeoning field of on-demand software services, SAP said Tuesday.

Germany-based SAP, which serves 2,300 health organizations globally, said the acquisition of California-based Ariba will add products enabling business-to-business transactions to its lineup of software geared toward improving corporate efficiency.
