House Ushers In New Era With Patent Reform Act

Law360 (September 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In the most sweeping reform of U.S. patent laws in half a century, the U.S. House of Representatives on Friday gave the final green light to the bipartisan Patent Reform Act of 2007.

By a vote of 220-175, the legislative body gave its stamp of approval to H.R. 1908 – sponsored by Rep. Howard Berman (D-Calif.) and Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) – which was introduced in both houses of Congress in April.
