Battle Rages In Wal-Mart Wage-And-Hour Suits

Law360, New York (September 10, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Retail giant Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has asked a federal court to scrap claims in almost two dozen cases as part of its ongoing nationwide wage battle with its workforce.

In a motion filed Friday to a Nevada district court, Wal-Mart called for the dismissal of statutory wage and conversion claims, claims under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act and those alleging breach of fair dealing in 22 of the 34 consolidated suits in the multidistrict litigation.
