NY Republican Floats Tax Break For Patent Fees

Law360, New York (May 25, 2012, 2:37 PM EDT) -- A tax-cutting New York Republican has introduced state legislation that would give would-be inventors hefty credits to offset patent application, search and examination fees, saying Friday that the bill would remove an obstacle for Empire State entrepreneurs. 

The Patent-NY Tax Credit measure, introduced Thursday, would cover 100 percent of all such costs up to $1,500 per year, according to the bill sponsored by New York State Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb, R-Canandaigua.
