Hoffman-La Roche Sues Teva Over Osteoporosis Drug

Law360 (September 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hoffman-La Roche Inc. has filed a patent suit in New Jersey against Israeli generics maker Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. in a bid to protect the market for the increasingly popular osteoporosis drug Boniva.

Hoffman-La Roche filed its lawsuit on Friday against Teva Pharmaceutical Industries and Teva Pharmaceuticals USA Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. Hoffman-La Roche also filed a separate infringement suit over Boniva against Gate Pharmaceuticals, which the plaintiff says is a division of Teva's U.S. subsidiary.
