Commerce Says Chinese Wind Towers Are Subsidized

Law360, New York (May 30, 2012, 6:55 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce on Wednesday announced the preliminary determination of its countervailing duty investigation into imports of utility-scale wind towers from China, saying that the industry is subsidized.

“Commerce preliminarily determined that Chinese producers/exporters have received countervailable subsidies of 13.74 percent to 26.00 percent,” Commerce’s International Trade Administration said.
