OMB Eyes July Date For Insourcing Cost Guidelines

Law360, New York (May 30, 2012, 6:56 PM EDT) -- The White House Office of Management and Budget is working on new guidelines to help agencies compare the costs of contractors and government employees when making insourcing decisions, and hopes to publish new guidance by July, according to a letter released Tuesday.

According to the release by the Senate subcommittee on contracting oversight, OMB said its guidance has already helped agencies reverse an eight-year trend of unsustainable growth in contract spending, and its next step will help agencies better track their inventories of contracts and analyze...
