Astellas, Boehringer Sue Ranbaxy Over Flomax ANDA

Law360, New York (May 17, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Japanese drug maker Astellas Pharma Inc. has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against India’s Ranbaxy Laboratories over its plans to make a generic version of the prostate drug Flomax.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, follows Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals Inc.’s submission with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration of an abbreviated new drug application for a generic version of Astellas' drug product, sold under the trademark Flomax.
