Judge Ready To Approve Metabolife's Ch. 11 Plan

Law360, New York (September 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A bankruptcy judge said Monday that he would approve Metabolife International Inc.'s Chapter 11 plan, which calls for a $56 million fund to settle product liability suits over the diet pill ephedra.

Judge John J. Hargrove of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of California said at a confirmation hearing that he would sign off on the plan once an order is submitted, according to Jesse Finlayson, an attorney for the debtor.
