Law360 (May 17, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Ralph Nader has long sought to change the way politics is played in the United States. He made his name as a consumer rights advocate, and then tried to bring his sense of principles to the nation’s presidential campaigns.

“Grilled tenderloin for fundraiser $1,000 a plate;” a Nader Green Party television ad stated in 2000, “campaign ads filled with half-truths, $10 million; promises to special interest groups, over $10 billion; finding out the truth, priceless. There are some things money can't buy.”
