Judge Could Deal Out Fines In Vitamin C Antitrust MDL

Law360, New York (June 4, 2012, 3:53 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Monday shot down a move by Chinese vitamin C producer Northeast Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. to dismiss it from a sprawling 6-year-old multidistrict price-fixing litigation, saying injunctive relief in the suit could take the form of fines.

In denying Northeast's motion for summary judgment, U.S. District Judge Brian M. Cogan rejected the company's argument that any injunction issued against it would be unenforceable.
