Romney Hires Health Exchange Adviser As Transition Chief

Law360, New York (June 4, 2012, 7:58 PM EDT) -- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has named Michael Leavitt, a former Health and Human Services secretary who has a lucrative business advising states on setting up health insurance exchanges, to lead his transition team, his campaign confirmed Monday.

Leavitt, who served as HHS secretary under President George W. Bush, is the chairman of Leavitt Partners, a health care consulting firm that has become a major player advising states on how to set up their insurance exchanges under the Affordable Care Act.
