ITC Judge Says LG, InterDigital IP Row Can Be Arbitrated

Law360, New York (June 5, 2012, 10:37 PM EDT) -- A U.S. International Trade Commission judge gave LG Electronics Inc. preliminary approval on Monday to exit an investigation launched by InterDigital Communications LLC over its 3G wireless patents, finding the company's claim could be resolved through arbitration.

Administrative Law Judge David P. Shaw granted LG's motion to terminate the investigation against it, finding that LG's claim that it was licensed under an expired patent license agreement between InterDigital and LG could be arbitrated out of court, according to a statement released by InterDigital.
