Obama May Veto Threat To PPACA's Health Device Tax

Law360, New York (June 6, 2012, 8:23 PM EDT) -- The Obama administration threatened Wednesday to veto Republican-led legislation to repeal a medical device tax intended to help pay for health care reform, arguing that the measure would benefit the medical device industry by raising taxes on middle-class and low-income families.

The White House released a statement Wednesday saying that if the president is presented with H.R. 436, which would repeal the medical device excise tax, his senior advisers would recommend that he veto it.
