Agency Ends Eminent Domain Row Over $80M Fla. Project

Law360, New York (June 7, 2012, 6:19 PM EDT) -- A community agency voted Wednesday to hand over the last bit of land that will allow developer Gold Coast Florida Regional Center to build an $80 million residential complex in Hollywood, Fla., in a controversial move ending a seven-year eminent domain battle.

In a 5-1 vote, the Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency gave Gold Coast shell company Block 40 LLC the deed to the land. With the approval, the developer now has the green light to pull permits for the project, which is expected to take 16...
