HTC Faces Probe Over Smartphone Circuit Patents

Law360, New York (June 7, 2012, 7:14 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission said Thursday that it will investigate Peregrine Semiconductor Corp.’s allegations that HTC Corp. is infringing five of its radio frequency integrated circuit patents through the import and sale of one of its smartphones.

The commission has named RF Micro Devices Inc., Motorola Mobility Inc., HTC America Inc., and HTC as respondents in the investigation, the ITC says.

San Diego-based Peregrine is requesting that the commission issue an exclusion order and cease and desist orders, according to the ITC.
