Judge Keeps Alive CWA Suit Over 20 Calif. Oil Spills

Law360, New York (June 11, 2012, 1:45 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Friday refused to throw out a Clean Water Act suit against energy company HVI Cat Canyon Inc. over 20 separate spills sending oil into the U.S. waters, ruling that the CWA can be applied in the area where the oil was released.
