Contractors Back Bill Keeping Medicare Quality Control As Is

Law360, New York (June 11, 2012, 7:02 PM EDT) -- Medicare's private quality control contractors on Monday threw their support behind a new bill that would prevent changes to the program, passed last year, that could threaten their contracts by opening them up to competition.

Rep. Tom Price, R-Ga., introduced a bill Friday that would reverse changes to Medicare's Quality Improvement Organization program, in which contractors field beneficiary complaints, review the quality of Medicare and implement quality improvements.
