Accel Invests $30M In Canadian Retail Software Co.

Law360, New York (June 12, 2012, 5:06 PM EDT) -- California venture capital and private equity firm Accel Partners has closed a $30 million fundraising for Canadian retail software manufacturer LightSpeed Retail Inc. for the company's first-ever institutional investment, the companies said Tuesday.

LightSpeed, previously called Xsilva Systems Inc., said Accel has provided the software maker with a $30 million Series A investment. LightSpeed will use the funds to add new employees, enhance its product offering and expand the company internationally, it said.
