Jury Finds Longview Directors Breached Duty With Shale Grab

Law360, New York (June 12, 2012, 10:57 PM EDT) -- A Texas state jury has found that Riley-Huff Energy Group LLC wrongfully obtained assets in the Eagle Ford Shale in Texas from two corporate directors of Longview Energy Co. who breached their fiduciary duty to the company, costing it millions of dollars, Longview announced Tuesday.

The total value of the jury verdict in favor of Longview is a matter of dispute, however, as a final judgment has not yet been entered. The plaintiffs claim that they are entitled to a total of $162 million, after the jury found on Saturday that the assets in question are worth a total of $42...
