Only 50 Large Law Firms Have Female Leaders

Law360, New York (June 15, 2012, 7:53 PM EDT) -- Fifty of the largest law firms landed on the Women in Law Empowerment Forum's 2012 list of firms with women heading offices, practice groups and governance committees, showing that women are making strides in achieving real leadership roles, but there is still a long way to go, experts said Friday.

Although all U.S. firms with 100 or more practicing lawyers — more than 300 firms — were eligible for the the WILEF Gold Standard Certification, 50 made the cut, compared with 32 who made the list...
