Mexico Approves Iusacell-Televisa Deal After Concessions

Law360, New York (June 14, 2012, 1:17 PM EDT) -- Mexico's competition authority has signed off on a proposed joint venture between cellphone operator Grupo Iusacell and media company Grupo Televisa SAB after the two offered concessions to ease the government's antitrust worries, the agency said Thursday.

The Federal Competition Commission, or CFC, approved the deal with a set of conditions. If the companies don't follow through with the requirements set out in the approval, they risk a fine of up to 10 percent of their annual revenues, according to a statement from the watchdog....
