Roche Files Third Suit This Month Over Boniva ANDAs

Law360, New York (September 17, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hoffman-La Roche Inc. has filed its third patent suit in New Jersey this month looking to stave off generic competition for the osteoporosis drug Boniva, accusing Canadian generics maker Apotex Inc. of infringing two patents by seeking U.S. regulatory approval for a copycat version of the drug.

Friday, Hoffman-La Roche sued Apotex Inc. and Apotex Corp., citing an Abbreviated New Drug Application that sought a green light from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to market 150 mg tablets of generic Boniva.
