NHTSA To Probe Fire Risk In 1.4M Toyota Vehicles

Law360, New York (June 18, 2012, 3:58 PM EDT) -- The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Thursday opened an investigation into 1.4 million Toyota Motor Corp. Camry, RAV4, Yaris and Highlander vehicles over electrical fires that have erupted from the power window controls.

The investigation targets 2007 through 2009 Camry, Camry Hybrid, RAV4 and Yaris vehicles built from approximately September 2006 through August 2008, as well as all 2008 Highlander Hybrid vehicles, the NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation said.
