Bill Seeking Audits Of Water Utilities Clears Calif. Panel

Law360, San Diego (June 18, 2012, 10:33 PM EDT) -- A California Assembly panel on Monday waved through a bill that would allow the state Public Utilities Commission to subject water utilities to audits and reporting requirements already imposed on electrical, gas and phone companies.

The Assembly Utilities and Commerce Committee passed S.B. 1364, sponsored by state Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff, of Diamond Bar, after placing it on the consent calendar.
