Judge Nixes Fund Payout To WorldCom Board Member

Law360, New York (September 17, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has upheld a bankruptcy court's ruling allowing the reorganized WorldCom Inc. to freeze the trust assets of a former board member.

In a ruling handed down Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Judge Denise Cote affirmed an earlier bankruptcy court ruling that granted the reorganized debtors’ objection to the payment of Judith Whittaker’s claim for $345,183. The ruling found that Whittaker’s claim was general and unsecured.
