AT&T Hit With $156M Patent Infringement Verdict

Law360, New York (September 17, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Texas jury has slapped AT&T Corp. with a $156 million verdict in a lawsuit brought by TGIP Inc. over patents relating to activating telephone calling cards, reportedly one of the largest awards ever handed down in the Eastern District of Texas.

When the jury's decision came down late Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, the award was no surprise, Douglas Cawley, a lawyer with McKool Smith PC and lead counsel for TGIP, said Monday.
