Conrad Black Slams Government Forfeiture Request

Law360, New York (September 17, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Though federal prosecutors have asked a court to force media mogul Conrad Black to turn over $17 million, the former Hollinger Inc. executive is not giving up without a fight.

In a motion filed on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinios, Black's attorneys called the forfeiture request “manifestly improper,” alleging that “it is inappropriate for the portion of the alleged scheme embracing the acquitted counts.”
