Commerce, State Coordinate Arms Definition On Trade Lists

Law360, New York (June 18, 2012, 7:25 PM EDT) -- The U.S. departments of Commerce and State have proposed rules to update and coordinate their trade policies controlling the movement of certain "specially designed" defense articles under their purview, according to a preview of Tuesday's Federal Register.

In related proposed rules, the agencies seek to revise the "specially designed" term in order to set out a common definition for use in both the Commerce Department's Commerce Control List and the State Department's U.S. Munitions List trade regulation registries.
