6th Circ. Won't Give Whirlpool Another Spin In Washer Suit

Law360, New York (June 19, 2012, 6:03 PM EDT) -- The Sixth Circuit on Monday upheld class certification for a group of consumers who allege their Whirlpool washing machines accumulate mold and give off unpleasant odors, denying the company's bid for a full panel rehearing.

The case dates back to 2008, when Gina Glazer originally filed the class action in Ohio state court claiming Whirlpool's Duet, Duet HT, Duet Sport and Duet Sport HT front-load washers did not thoroughly rinse detergent from clothes or properly drain the laundry drum.
